September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Let's stand together for children in Cornwall facing cancer as they are not alone. We're calling on nurseries, schools & colleges across Cornwall to unite for a Non-Uniform Day on Friday 26th September 2025 to raise awareness and money for The Children's Cancer Unit Fund at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Every year, children in our community face the unimaginable. They spend long days, sometimes weeks in hospital, away from their friends, school and home. The Children's Cancer Unit is a place of incredible care and hope, but we need your help to make it feel more like home. By taking part, you'll help us Transform hospital rooms into warm, restful spaces Improve play areas and teenage hangouts Provide creative activities and equipment Support families navigating childhood cancer Let's give our young patients and their families the comfort and support they deserve right here in their home of Cornwall. Save the date: Friday 26th September 2025 Together, we can bring smiles, comfort, and hope. For more information, contact our Fundraising Team at rcht.charity@nhs.net or call us on 01872 252858 #ChildhoodCancerAwareness #NonUniformDay

I am overwhelmed with the number of children who have completed a shoe box to represent their Summer Holiday. Thank you to all involved. I am aware that these activities are often a team effort-thank you all! It has given me an opportunity to talk to some children and learn more about their interests. All children who participated in the challenge are invited to join myself on Friday 19th September for hot chocolate and a biscuit. A special shout out goes to: Ember, Caleb and Winnie Fox Wilby Troy Well done everyone Mrs Walker

Dear year 6 parents, Walk your child to school this week, one last time. Meet them at gate, one last time. Even if they don't want you to. Reminisce about the memories you have made together: their first day at school, the sports days, the fancy dress days and the endless paintings they bought home so excited to share with you . Remember how small their little hand was the first day you walked them to school. Remember their eyes gleaming with excitement as they reached up to kiss you goodbye. Remember the sticks you collected and the puddles you splashed in on the way home. Be proud of them. Be proud of everything they have achieved and how far they have come. Tell them how special they are, just like you did when you looked into their eyes on that very first day, all those years ago. Walk with them one last time. Greet them at the gate one last time. Hold their not-so-little hand tightly as you walk with them, one last time. And when it is finally time to say goodbye, just remember: you did a great job.
